The seats are easily my favorite bit on the S5. The suspension stiffens, the steering weighs up, and the engine is now in the mood to sing an opera. The figures aren't astronomical, I agree. Most of you will call it a slightly flashy A4.The test car came equipped with something Audi calls 'Super Sport Seats' upholstered in top-class Napa Leather. When driven with a light foot, the S5 returned a respectable 12. Trot about in the Efficiency or the Comfort mode and it behaves like any other big Audi. You see, when you are the helm of a 500bhp+ monster, especially in a country like ours, it is hard to utilise all of the power. ‘It makes sense. The seats are super supportive and hug you tightly. Legroom is severely limited. The quad exhausts bellow and scream, which the cabin sadly cuts out. How does it drive When I drove the RS6 Avant last year (you can read about the shenanigans here), I had a silly grin plastered across my face every single time I went near the throttle. But, it does feel like a misfit in a car that has a sorted chassis, brilliant suspension, and a potent motor. If our test car hadn't borrowed color from an alphonso mango, it wouldn't have grabbed as many eyeballs‘What’s the point of it ’ I thought to myself, as I set the alarm for 4:30 am. Fiddle around a bit, and you will get used to it in no time. It is rather funny that it is easy to drive this car fast.
Use all of the 333 horses, however, and the efficiency will drop to single digits in no time. Almost makes you not miss a manual transmission. That's about it.Set the drive select to Dynamic however and the wolf suddenly comes to the fore. It gets a large, open-mouthed grille, LED daytime running lamps and some lovely looking 18-inch wheels. We aren't complaining. Fast Laptimes over the weekend, the S5 fits the bill. If you think you are smarter than it, there's an Individual mode as well. The S5 gets Audi's 'Quattro', all-wheel drive wizardry too. Tick some options on the list, pay for registration and insurance - you are effectively looking at an outlay of close to 75 lakh. We can confirm. Throttle response is dull, and there's no sense of urgency at all. What you get in exchange for that money is a punchy V6 motor, a plush interior and an added dose of practicality.0-litre motor. The barrage of buttons around the gear lever does seem confusing at first. It feels vague and keeps you guessing as to what the front wheels are doing. Moreover, the headroom isn't all that great either. The 7-speed, dual clutch S-Tronic unit does a brilliant job of harnessing all of the 440Nm of torque. The S5 in comparison isn't even remotely as jaw-dropping, neck-snapping or gut-wrenchingly fast, but it does just enough to make you smirk. But, it's all that you'll ever need. With the front seat set to my driving position (which is usually all the way back and as close to the floor as possible), I could barely fit in the rear seat. We don't blame you - it is. They don't let you slide around even under hard cornering or braking. For the S5, Audi has chucked out the old naturally aspirated V8 engine for a more polar bear friendly V6. I wish I could say the same about the rear bench, though. Be warned, this note can be addictive. Like I said, ‘It makes sense. It was when traffic was a little speck in the rear view mirror did I realize that the whole point of the S5 was usability. On paper, it is neither as docile as the A range of cars from Audi nor as bonkers as the RS ones. Over the years, the design directive for the 'S' lineup has been rather simple.
‘Alarm set for 3 hours and 22 minutes from now’ flashed a little black bar at the bottom of my cellphone screen. What about the interiors There are a few 'Look at me, I'm sporty' bits. It's just the right size honestly.’Right then. Not perfect sense, but it does. If you need to be a sensible dad on the weekdays and Mr.The S5 gets Audi's Drive Select system - that lets you alter its behavior. Yes, it does look similar to many other Audis. Not perfect sense, but it does. The CD player and the dual zone climate control interface sit right below.VerdictThe S5 carries a sticker price of INR 63 lakh (ex-showroom). I pinned the throttle down to the floor whenever I got the chance, just to hear it sing. It has virtually no competition either.
To sum up, the interiors are standard Audi fare. Overall, it makes for a clean and understated silhouette. The flat-bottom steering for instance. Then there are splatters of carbon fiber on the centre console and the doors, which look cool. But, Audi, we think you've taken the family look a bit too far. You get a different instrument cluster and a gear knob from the RS5 with 'S5' stamped on it too!The front half gets an extremely busy centre console that is full of buttons. The icing on the cake is the supercharger strapped onto the 3. Is it How does it look If our test car hadn't borrowed color from an alphonso mango, it wouldn't have grabbed as many eyeballs. It is supposed to be a concoction of practicality from the everyday cars, with a dash of performance from the weekend toys. The suspension too softens up and absorbs most of the undulations on the surface. In fact, you can jump in, drive off and feel confident about where the four corners of the car are. Shifts occur only at the 6,500rpm redline in this mode. But hey, why change something that's not broke That said, it could use a fresher looking design like the Q7. It is wrapped in leather and is just the right size.’Source: CarDekho. It's an option we highly recommend you tick on the list. The result is 333bhp of pure, usable power! Audi claims the S5 will clock 100km/h in 5. The Audi S5. For all practical purposes, the S5 is the same size as the A4. The shifts are lightning quick, especially when you're using the paddle-shifters. If you intend on going for a calm cruise, these modes are the ones to pick. The curves and creases are minimalistic. One can choose between Efficiency, Comfort or Dynamic mode. While the design is clean, there's no novelty in there. The trademark differentiators are in place, though. You are treated to a nice, throaty, and raspy note from the engine instead. In isolation, the steering isn't all that bad. You can also set it to Auto and let the car figure out the best setting by itself. It isn't intimidating in any manner. The oh-so-pretty sloping roofline eats into the headroom for the rear occupants. The design is typically Audi. The downside is that the ride becomes slightly bouncy at high speeds in either of these modes.
It does it without breaking a sweat. In Dynamic mode, the steering is a bit too stiff and heavy - you end up wrestling it trying to get the S5 to turn into a corner. The S5 managed to scrape its underbelly on a few occasions. If you are a six-footer like I am, the car's roof will be your new best friend. No other car offers that combo, for that kind of money.5km/l to the litre. If being the centre of attention is on your bucket list, make sure you opt for a loud red, a flashy blue or even this unapologetic yellow.1 seconds and go weft accumulator on to hit a top speed of 250km/h. Weirdly, it fits the bill only for that specific case. The result is that the car grabs onto the road like a leech! You can be a silly 10-year old with the throttle and the steering around a set of twisties - the car will make up for your buffoonery. It is among the key things that lend the S5 its split persona. The gearbox is fantastic. Fast forward to 5:00 pm, on the drive back home. This mode lets you tailor the engine, suspension, and steering as you like. It feels like a mix and match of bits and bobs from different Audis all stitched together around the profile of the S5. Be covert, blend in and let the engine do the talking! Clearly Audi forgot this when they painted this particular one. The Sportback design means that the roofline slopes into the rear in one clean sweep. The changes are minimal here too, and we'd forgive you if you thought there were none. The S5 is a four-door, unlike the mental RS5. The platinum finish on the hexagonal grille, brushed aluminium on the mirror caps and a garnish of S badges is hard to miss. The slab-sided dash houses a rather small, 7-inch screen that acts as the display for the navigation, reverse camera, music system and the drive select as well. If the large wheels didn't give the sporty pretensions away, the S5 gets subtle albeit noticeable bits like the lip spoiler and quad exhausts that stamp the fact that it means business. While on the subject, let us point out that using these buttons on the move, is a task in itself. Can one use it as a daily driver Yes! Just be careful about the low nose around small hillocks local authorities call speed breakers. As expected, the S5 turned a lot of heads. Be the proverbial wolf in sheep's clothing. The only bit that lets you down is the steering. For example, it will shift up to 7th gear at 70km/h or hold onto 2nd up to 100km/h depending on how heavy your right foot is
The latter optimizes the engine for better fuel efficiency, whereas the Power mode lets one utilize full potential of the motor. The smaller engine comes mated to a five-speed manual gearbox while the larger one meshes with a six-speed automatic. To sum up this section, the Samsung Galaxy A51 is a beautiful handset that’s well built and even though it has an overall plastic build, it doesn’t feel anything less than premium. On the Galaxy A51, Samsung has used an optical in-display fingerprint sensor.5 seconds. To put it simply, Samsung’s One UI 2.The display used here is FHD+ with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels and features a 20:9 ratio.
On the bottom, we find the USB Type-C port that can be used for charging and data transfer and as a nod to audiophiles out there, Samsung has also added a 3. This may not be that fast; however, it works a lot better than the early iterations of this tech. Samsung is one of the best display manufacturers in the world and this is evident with what’s used on the Galaxy A51. For what it’s worth, Samsung has also thrown in a case to keep your purchase in pristine condition way past its purchase date. Each handset was targeted at a specific audience and Samsung, in the process, showed the world what it is to understand its audience. However, those with smaller hands may find it a bit difficult to access.
This means that with it, you can use all your third-party wired headphones easily. While it may not be as fast as a physical fingerprint scanner, it gets the job done.4-inches found on its predecessor. If you are worried about scratching this Corning Gorilla Glass 3 display, Samsung has also preinstalled a screen protector for good measure. Although made of plastic, the Galaxy A51 does in no way feel inferior to the touch; however, it comes with a gloss finish that retains fingerprint residue. The viewing angles here are superb and along with the brightness, colours are well represented. Now, with 2020 already upon us in a big way, Samsung has recently launched the successor to the Galaxy A50 which has been aptly christened as the A51.In a bid to keep the price down, Samsung has made use of a polycarbonate rear that features a design that looks like glass. So, big ups to Samsung for finishing it with perfection. Due to the centrally-aligned camera cut-out, Samsung has managed to significantly reduce the bezels; however, there is no edge-to-edge display like some of the higher-end models. With Android 10, you receive Google’s navigation gestures, heightened parental controls, the detailed privacy and location additions as well as Focus mode. This is an octa-core processor that’s based on a 10nm design which offers slightly better performance over the Exynos 9610 SoC found on the Galaxy A50. And for good measure, Samsung has also dropped the price of the handset making it more accessible to the masses.
The biggest design change here is the new L-shaped camera module on the rear that sits in the upper left corner.0 is like an almost non-existent skin on top of Android 10 but also has the intuitiveness and visually appealing design that the brand is striving for since last year. We would have preferred if Samsung made use of a non-gloss finish that’s found on recent realme handsets as it helps in preserving the look even without a case. Pressing and holding the power button will launch Samsung’s voice assistant Bixby; however, it can be mapped in the Advance features option in the Settings app.SoftwareThis is one area where the Samsung Galaxy A51 comes into its own. Samsung uses a flat panel display on the Galaxy A51 which is a fresh departure from the curved screens found on some of the more recent models.Sure, Chinese brands ruled and seldom could brands compete with their aggressive pricing.PerformanceThe Samsung Galaxy A51 doesn’t make a significant leap when it comes to raw processing power over the A50 as it utilizes the very same chipset, the Exynos 9611, that’s found on the Galaxy A50s. The Galaxy A51 follows in the same footsteps and it is in a word — a stunner.0 on top of Android 10 Super ELF G2 suppliers and the Galaxy A51 is the first device to come with this operating system preinstalled. For the price on offer, this chipset is quite sufficient and when paired with a 6GB RAM, the handset does well in handling whatever we threw at it. Elaborating to an extent on the display, Samsung appears to have moved on for good on the Infinity-U notched design and for good measure added an Infinity-O punch-hole cut-out that was first seen on the Galaxy Note 10 line-up. While it doesn’t have the crisp density as seen on the likes of the Note 10+, for example, it is still a really good OLED panel that more than certainly gets the job done.5mm headphone jack. With the freshly revamped A Series, Samsung has thrown down the gauntlet to every other brand competing in the premium mid-range segment and issued a rallying cry for every forthcoming model from this series.
This model not only builds up where Samsung left off but also features enough of new and relevant tech that should keep it futureproof well into the next year. This version of One UI is a lot more comfortable than the previous generation and you can easily make out all the benefits Samsung has baked into it. Unfortunately, you also miss out on useful features such as the in-built screen-recorder and slow-mo selfie videos. Usually, the Galaxy S Series would be the first to feature Samsung’s newest OS; but this year we see the company’s bullish intent with its A-Series handsets and it will get additional support for two forthcoming major Android updates. With the addition of this cut-out, Samsung has managed to trim the top bezel down quite significantly allowing for a streamlined look which we absolutely loved on the Note 10. The Galaxy A50’s in-display fingerprint scanner struggled a bit and it’s great to see that Samsung has worked on this feature.
Also, you get the all-new Bixby Routines, Bixby voice, Edge screen and app pairs. A special mention has to be given to the rear design and even though it features a gradient design, it is subtle and not overbearing as some of the models from rival brands in the last year. Also, on the A51, Samsung has managed to reduce the width of the chin, which was a major pain point of the A50.The Samsung Galaxy A51 comes with a beautiful large display that adorns the front and a hard-to-miss prism design on the rear. It comes with an Infinity-O Super AMOLED display measuring 6. Samsung has loaded One UI 2.
Design, BuildThe Samsung Galaxy A50 did well last year because Samsung designed it to perfection. This takes us to the Samsung Galaxy A50, a smartphone that did extremely well not just in India but across the globe. However, as the latest CounterPoint research shows, Samsung was the only non-Chinese brand to feature in the top 5 when it came to handsets moved in the country and also held the lofty position of being the number 2 brand in India. There are also enhancements such as an enhanced Dark Mode, Secure Folder, Game Launcher, Dual Messenger feature and more.
Sure, it did not have a glass finish like some of its pricier counterparts; but, the plastic frame and back added a lightweight appeal which was certainly a crowd-pleaser. . Unlike previous years, every model from the A-Series that was introduced had a clear distinction.DisplayThe Galaxy A50 was a forward-thinking handset for Samsung and with the A51, the brand has built upon it.Rating: 2019 was a landmark year for Samsung and not only did the South Korean smartphone giant introduce the world to its clean and streamlined One UI but it also doubled-down and revamped the faltering A Series
But, the results not on par with the Note 5 Pro&weft accumulator parts for sale39;s camera. Why? Because an iPhone holds better value over an Android smartphone any given day, especially when you consider the fact that Apple’s two-year-old midrange offering can still battle it out with the best Android midrange smartphone from the present. iOS is tastefully designed with a polished user interface, with a focus on small conveniences that are relevant to the user in daily usage scenarios. However, with a smaller display and a highly optimised power-efficient OS, the iPhone SE can last almost a full day on a single charge under moderate usage, which isn’t on par with the Note 5 Pro’s battery life but is still impressive nonetheless.Winner: Redmi Note 5 ProValue:This is where the scales are balanced for both the parties.
The iPhone SE, on the other hand, has a comparatively smaller 1,624mAh battery.Winner: Apple iPhone SECamera:This is an area where the Redmi Note 5 Pro takes a marginal edge. However, the iPhone SE can shoot 4K videos at 30fps, making it one of the few phones in this range to shoot 4K videos. And, at the end of the day, it’s an iPhone — a name that’s enough to raise your collar in the society.(source).Winner: Redmi Note 5 ProBattery:Xiaomi’s Redmi series has always been about bigger batteries and the Note 5 Pro with its bigger 4000mAh battery is no exception. Since # iOS is a closed ecosystem, the iPhone SE offers fewer customisation options to its users, which is good enough for those looking for a no-nonsense user interface. This makes choosing the winner way more difficult as both have their own share of pros and cons. However, iOS is a walled garden and therefore, you will have to adapt to iOS’s way instead of making the phone adapt to you. However, we have a subjective winner — it’s the iPhone SE.Unless you shoot 4K videos a lot, the iPhone SE is recommended. The photos have adequate colours and decent contrast with adequate detailing. While one may argue that MIUI’s monthly updates add new features and fix issues, the newer releases bring with them new issues and tend to slow down the device over the course of time.
The open-source nature of Android OS (not the latest one though) on the Redmi Note 5 Pro gives you access to millions of apps, games and launchers, both from the Google PlayStore and various third-party sources. Therefore, if you don’t want to be locked in a closed ecosystem, it is advisable to stay away from the iPhone SE.The iPhone SE, on the other hand, has a 12MP rear camera and while it takes good photos, it is showing its age.
There’s a portrait mode that is pretty decent at giving out bokeh shots with naturally blurred backgrounds. The 20MP single selfie camera with an LED flash also utilises AI to take impressive bokeh selfies. The Redmi Note 5 Pro proudly flaunts its good display, long-lasting battery and a decent camera, but the iPhone SE offers better value, superior performance and a superb build. Apple’s exceptional support for iPhones is proven, which means that if you prefer keeping your phone with you for longer periods of time, then the iPhone SE has you covered for two more years, which is certainly better than Xiaomi’s single-year support for its midrangers. Most of that mega-performance is down to the GPU pushing lesser pixels on the SE’s display.
And as for updates, midrange Xiaomi phones only get to enjoy one major Android OS update, that too a year after Google releases it for the market. The front 1. With the iPhone SE, you will be forced to stay with Apple’s services for a better experience (such as Siri’s integration with Apple Music) instead of choosing third-party ones, which Android allows. You can plug in flash drives and even a conventional mouse as well, which almost makes it a portable computer. However, Android isn’t the most secure platform and therefore, you keep on getting exposed to news alerts of another malware attacking Android smartphones over a particular year.2MP selfie sensor is good enough for video calls.
iPhone SEConclusion:Once we sum up the positives and negatives of both the Redmi Note 5 Pro and the iPhone SE, both of them turn out to be equally impressive. However, for everything else, the Redmi Note 5 Pro takes the lead in the camera department. The Note 5 Pro’s 12MP+5MP dual rear camera takes noticeably good pictures with natural colours, adequate details and decent low light performance. The iPhone SE focuses on the Note 5 Pro’s shortcomings here — an almost stable OS experience followed by timely security updates. Additionally, there’s no bokeh-based portrait mode, which could be a deal-breaker for those obsessed with photography. Add to that Xiaomi’s persistent addition of bloatware over the time and you end up with a software experience that gets stale over the course of time
